منتظَر کا منتظِر ہوں ایک عرصہ ہوگیا
اپنے گھرسے دربدر ہوں ایک عرصہ ہوگیا
خود کا متلاشی، نہ جانوں اپنا منزل ہےکہاں ؟
خون سے لت پت تر بہ تر ہوں ایک عرصہ ہوگیا
تہہ بہ تہہ زندان کی دار و رسن مسکن مرا
میں بھی اک لختِ جگر ہوں ایک عرصہ ہوگیا
بال و پر میرے اُکھاڑے باتوں میں قدغن لگا
اپنے پر سے یار، بے پر ہوں ایک عرصہ ہوگیا
چھن گئی ہے مجھ سے آذادی سلاسل ہوگیا
میں غم و آلام کا گھر ہوں ایک عرصہ ہوگیا
ایک زندہ لاش ہوں عاقل میں اپنے صحن میں
زندگی سے  بے ثمر ہوں ایک عرصہ ہوگیا

I have been waiting for a while,
Wandering aimlessly from my home, it’s been a while.
Lost in myself, unaware of my destination,
Drenched in blood, I’ve been for a while.

Layer by layer, the walls of the prison soothe me,
I too am a naked piece of liver, it’s been a while.
Feathers and wings in my empty words, malice embedded,
I am wingless even with my feathers, it’s been a while.

Freedom has slipped away from me in chains,
I am the house of sorrow and pain, it’s been a while.
A living corpse, wise within my courtyard,
I am fruitless in life, it’s been a while.
