جب وہ اس کے ہسپتال کے بستر کے کنارے بیٹھی، اس کے نازک ہاتھ کو اپنے ہاتھوں میں پکڑتے ہوئے، وہ انہیں روک نہ سکی کہ انہوں نے جو یادیں تقسیم کی تھیں، اُن پر غور کریں۔
ان کی پہلی ملاقات کالج میں ہوئی تھی، اور پانچویں شادی کی سالگرہ تک، وہ اُس کا سہارا، اس کے ہمراہ، اور اس کا بہترین دوست رہا۔
آنسو اُس کے چہرے پر بہنے لگے، جب وہ اس کی تھکی ہوئی آنکھوں میں دیکھتی، جانتی کہ اس کا وقت اختمام کے قریب ہے۔ اس نے اُس کے وعدے کو یاد کیا، جب انہوں نے اپنے آپ سے عہد کیا تھا کہ موت ان کو الگ کر دے گی تب تک وہ ایک دوسرے سے پیار اور ایک دوسرے کی قدر کریں گے۔

“The Last Goodbye”
As she sat beside his hospital bed, holding his frail hand in hers, she couldn’t help but think of all the memories they had shared. From their first meeting in college to their 50th wedding anniversary, he had been her rock, her partner, and her best friend.
Tears streamed down her face as she looked into his tired eyes, knowing that their time together was coming to an end. She remembered the day they had exchanged their vows, promising to love and cherish each other until death do them part.
With a heavy heart, she whispered her final words to him: “You’ve been my everything, my love. I’ll carry you in my heart forever.”
As she kissed his forehead, his eyes closed, and he took his last breath. She held him close, feeling the warmth fade from his body, and wept for the loss of the love of her life.
