میری مشکل میرے ہمدم
تیری مشکل نہیں ہے
اور یہ راستہ تیرا
میری منزل نہیں  ہے
میری چاہتوں کا یہ  سفر
ہر کونے میں ہے  چھپا ہوا
میرا دل چاہتوں کا مسافر
پر تیرا دل  نہیں ہے
کبھی برساتوں کی چھاؤں میں
ہوتا ہے راز کچھ عیاں
میرے ہر خواب کا حل
تیرا خواب نہیں ہے
اور جب بھی راتوں میں ہو
تنہائیوں کا سفر
تیری یادوں کا ساتھ
پر  میرے ساتھ نہیں ہے
یہ جو دوری ہے ہمارے بیچ
ہے گفتار دل کی داستاں
میرے دل کی باتوں کا راز
پر تیری زبان رازداں نہیں ہے
رات بھر تیرے میرے خوابوں میں
ہوتی ہے باتیں ہمدم گہرائیوں کی
لیکن ہمراز  تیرا ہر خواب
میری زندگی کی کہانی نہیں  ہے
میرے دل کی دھڑکنوں میں بھی
ہمدم ! تیرا ہی اثر ہے
اور میری ہر دعا تجھ سے ہے
پر میرا وجود تیرا وجود نہیں ہے

My problem, my companion,
It’s not your problem,
And this path is yours,
Not the destination I seek.

This journey of my desires,
Hidden in every corner,
My heart, a traveler of desires,
But your heart is not.

In the shadows of sometimes rainy evenings,
Some secrets unfold,
The solution to all my dreams,
But it’s not your dream.

And whenever the journey of solitude occurs at night,
With the company of your memories,
But, with me, it’s not.

The distance between us,
Speaks the tales of the heart,
The secret of my heart’s words,
But your tongue is not secretive.

Throughout the night in our dreams,
Conversations of profound depths,
But your every dream,
Is not the story of my life.

Even in the beats of my heart,
Companion, it’s your influence,
And every prayer of mine is for you,
But my existence is not yours.
